About the Authors:

Jason and Heather Hansen have been happily married for 20 years and have 3 beautiful children, Kennedy, Anna, and Beau Hansen. The Hansens reside in West Haven, Utah. Jason and Heather have competed as a Professional Natural Physique Fitness competitors in Natural Bodybuilding. Together, they won the Team USA National Championships and represented the USA at the World Championships winning World Titles. Jason has also competed as a Powerlifter setting National records in the deadlift and winning two World Championships. Heather also competed and won the Millenial Mrs. Utah 2000 Pageant.


Recently, the Hansens lost their beautiful 16 year old daughter Kennedy Ann Hansen to a long journeyed battle with Terminal Juvenile Batten Disease. The Hansens created a foundation for their daughter, Kennedy’s Hugs which now has reached millions through varieties of social media. Jason documented, shared, and posted the last year of Kennedy’s life through her Facebook page, Kennedy’s Hugs. The Hansens continue to share her legacy, story and journey with the world. Jason and Heather now speak frequently and share their daughter’s story with various groups throughout the country.
